Zulfikar joined Somerset in 2019 and has over 12 years of experience in Private Equity, AIF, International/Corporate Taxation, Regulatory Services, Assurance and Consulting. He has experience across the entire fund life cycle including fund raising, portfolio company management, investment operations, asset management, compliance management, distribution water-flows and exit strategies.

He oversees fund operations and compliance management and focuses on fund raising, investment operations, investor relations, due diligence, reporting and compliance management, Tax, HR and ESG matters.

Previously, he headed investment operations and asset management for a multi-jurisdictional co-managed offshore fund and was entrusted with providing functional leadership to investment team in the course of investing and post investment activities. He has also helped launch and manage new businesses in his earlier stint – a real estate focussed NBFC and a cold chain warehousing platform. Before this, he has worked with BDO and EY in their assurance and tax practices working across diverse sectors including financial services, consumer, pharma, manufacturing, commodities and energy.

Zulfikar is a post-graduate in commerce and a member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of India.
